A Letter from Bill & Sharie
Hello! My name is William Beausoleil, and my wife, Sharie, and I are the proud owners of Soleil Bakery in Woodstock, Connecticut. For more than 14 years, Soleil Bakery has been dedicated to creating exceptional baked goods while serving the community we love.
About five years ago, Sharie came into my life and soon became my wife, my business partner, and an integral part of the bakery. We work side by side every day, sharing a passion for excellence and a commitment to doing things the right way. We believe that attention to detail and a dedication to quality are what set us apart.
Over the years, Soleil Bakery has been honored with numerous awards, including Best of New England by Yankee Magazine and Best of Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine for more than 10 consecutive years. While these accomplishments mean a great deal to us, what we're most proud of is the opportunity to give back.
Helping others has always been an important part of my life, and the bakery has allowed me to turn that passion into action. We've donated a trip to Costa Rica, provided Thanksgiving meals for families throughout Connecticut's Quiet Corner, supplied back-to-school items for students and teachers, and supported many other charitable causes over the years.
Since joining the bakery, Sharie has embraced that same spirit of generosity and has encouraged us to do even more. Together, we've found great joy in creating opportunities that make a difference in people's lives. That shared passion is what ultimately inspired this essay contest.
Several years ago, I entered an essay contest for the chance to win a diner in Maine. Although I wasn't selected, I remember how exciting it was to dream about the possibilities. That experience stayed with me and inspired the idea of creating a similar opportunity for someone else.
We've owned and sold two properties in Maine, and we certainly could have listed this one for sale in the traditional way. Instead, we wanted to do something different — something that could change someone's life.
Through this essay contest, one deserving winner will have the opportunity to own 26.5 beautiful acres in Maine, complete with fully furnished cabins, for just a $150 entry fee and a heartfelt essay. At the same time, we'll be able to recover our investment and all associated legal costs, and if all goes well, continue creating opportunities like this in the future.
Our dream extends beyond this one property. We hope this contest is just the beginning.
